“We’re all it together”

That seems to be the catch phrase that Sen. Clinton is using for her Presidential Campaign.  Now that might sound all nice and good, but I don’t think so.  If you read the article, it sounds like a fancy way of glossing over communism.

She says “Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”  Well I’ve not seen too many government polices that make things fair.  Income tax brackets: they take more money from your pay check based on how much you make.  I’m in favor of the flat tax.  Let’s have one tax bracket for everyone.  That’d be fair.  Something tells me Hillary is not for that.

I don’t believe that communism has worked any place in the world, and I don’t understand why some people want to move the United States down that path.  Part of what has made America great is the American Dream and the free market.  Let’s keep America moving forward, not backward.

  1. Amen little brother.
“Share prosperity” is the Soviet term for “Collectivization” and guess what they didn’t like it. We should start a website entitled “Clinton’s a Communist”

  3. I would suggest being wary of implicating similarities to Communists in any respect. Apart from the actual problems of stripping away the layers of straw man fallacies that people love to throw at Communism, the insult has become a keyword for fear-mongering. Attacking someone’s point of view by comparing them to an unpopular group of people is a weak argument.

If you disagree with Clinton, show why. Trying to get her associated with Communism does nothing but spur hate and help further divide America into the two major parties. No common ground can be reached when the objections raised are nothing more than well disguised ad hominem attacks.

As for Communism, just to show that the topic is not an easy discussion, China worth looking at.

  4. babada’s comments make me realize how comparison to communism is almost like Godwin’s law.

  5. babada, you make a good point. I do not believe that being in it all together is the right phrase to use. Because we aren’t. I think the American Dream is that through hard work, courage and determination one could achieve prosperity. If we’re all in it together then everyone is not pulling their own wait as they should be.

The government should not be trying to work for everyone. It should be staying out of people’s lives so that everyone can look for themselves.

Jeremy: So I had to look up Goodwin’s Law, but I find it interesting. Perhaps I should have used a better term, but I would say that socialism, instead of communism, would fit the bill.
